The 2010 Final Tax Bills were mailed on July 14th with the installment dates of August, 26th, 2010 and October 28th, 2010.

2008 Reassessment Information
The Government of Ontario has made a number of changes to property assessment values. These changes include:
- A four-year assessment update cycle - 2008 property assessment will apply for the next four taxation years: 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
- Phase-in of assessment increases - if there is an increase in the property assessment compared to the previously used 2005 assessment, the increase will be phase-in equally over the four years.
- If there is a decrease in the property assessed value compared to the previous 2005 assessment, it will be reflected immediately in the 2009 tax year.
The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) will be sending out property assessment notices beginning November 17, 2008 to all Galway-Cavendish and Harvey property owners for 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
It is important that property owners understand the impact of reassessment and the changes that are being implemented for the 2009 taxation year.

Explanation of Tax Changes:
If you notice a discrepancy in the Final 2008 Levy in the “Explanation of Tax Changes” on your 2009 Final Bill, please be assured that the correct amounts were billed in 2008 and 2009.
Please contact the Finance Department and we would be pleased to explain this discrepancy. It only affects properties that have had a January 1, 2005 assessment re-evaluation as determined by The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation.
