Environmental Waste Day
Saturday, July 28th
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
at the Galway Community Centre, 579 Galway Road, Kinmount.
Peterborough County is sponsoring an Environmental Waste Collection Day. The following waste materials will be accepted.
- Paints, coatings and their container
- Solvents and their containers
- Oil filters (used)
- Containers (only) from oil
- Single use dry cell batteries
- Anitfreeze and its containers
- Pressurized containers (propane tanks and cylinders)
- Fertilzers, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, pesticides adn their containers
- Electronics recycling
- Durable plastics recycling (kids toys, tupperware, broken plastic furniture)
- Styrofoam recycling (meat trays, take-out containers, bulking packaging bits)
FOR SALE on site will be rain barrels, composters/digesters, and blue boxes.
Smiles, information and advice will be free!!!______

Household Hazardous Waste
The County of Peterborough currenlty operates one (1) Household Hazardous Waste Facility in the Township located at the Buckhorn Waste Transfer Station. Please note - this local facility is seasonal.

The Peterborough County Household Hazardous Waste facility at the Bobcaygeon Transfer Station has been closed by the County until further notice.
Electronic Recycling:
The County of Peterborough has a year round Electronic Recycling (WEEE) depot located at the Pido Road Hazardous Waste Depot, 400 Pido Rd, Peterborough. They also sponser several local pick-up events.

"My Waste App"
Peterborough County has launched its FREE "My Waste App" accessible through your mobile phone QR Reader. (smartphones, tablets, and androids only - not accessbile on blackberry, yet!)
Instructions: Simply scan the QR (quick response) code below. This will link you to the Peterborough County "My Waste" launch page. From there you can choose your platform appropriate to your device. This will then take to the app store where you can scroll down and choose the app specific to the Township of Galway-Cavendish and Harvey.
