Home EnerGuide Rating Changes
Starting January 2012, the Ontario Building Code (OBC) required all permits issued for new homes to be constructed to reach a minimum EnerGuide for New Houses rating of 80 or better.
Occupancy Permit Requirement Changes
Commencing on January 1st, 2012 residential houses must meet more strigent completion requirements before occupancy of the house can be permitted. These new requirements found in Article 1.3.3.4. of Division C of the Ontario Building Code will culminate in the issuance of an Occupancy Permit.

There are a number of other aspects that must be considered including, but not limited to, the general provisions of the zoning by-laws, the specific zone provisions of the by-laws, the definition section of the by-laws as well as applicable law that is governed by agencies other than the municipality.

Development Charges
Peterborough County and Township Development Charges as of January 1, 2012 pdf document.
On November 18th 2010, the Council of the County of Peterborough passed a Tariff of Fees By-law under The Planning Act which had the effect of changing their Land Division fees (Development Charges) effective as of January 1, 2010.
You can obtain a copy of the County By-law and Schedule 'A' here for your information.
As of January 1, 2012 Municipality Development Charges have not
increased and will remain at the following rates:
Residential (per unit)

Semi-Detached $2,000
Other $1,416.67
Non-Residential $6.00/m2 $0.56/ft2
